Interactive Public Reporting EngineThe Interactive Public Reporting Engine displays the complete set of IDEA data that states collect and submit to OSEP to meet the requirements of Section 618 of IDEA. This tool displays each dataset and the required disaggregations such as race/ethnicity, gender, and age. It provides a more dynamic way for states to meet the 618 public reporting requirements, and linking to the tool fulfills the public reporting requirements. In addition, use of the tool promotes conversations about how to improve results among families, teachers, schools, related service providers, administrators, policymakers, and other interested stakeholders.

Part B Indicator Data Display WizardThe IDC Part B Indicator Data Display Wizard helps state education agency (SEA) staff communicate complex data to stakeholders in a more user-friendly manner. This tool is designed to create data visualizations, in the form of charts, based on State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR) data the user enters. IDC has updated the tool to make it easier for users to create visualizations based on the charts’ purposes. Many of the visualizations are dynamic and automatically update based on the data the user enters into the tool. States can easily transfer the visualizations to other programs to meet their reporting needs based on the audience, message, and purpose of the desired report or presentation they are preparing.

Business Rules Documentation ProtocolThe Business Rules Documentation Protocol is a customizable Excel template that states can use for documenting, recording, and communicating existing business rules or data quality validation checks they perform during the collection and validation of IDEA Part B data.

Data Sources for Calculating Significant DisproportionalityData Sources for Calculating Significant Disproportionality provides a summary of the data needed to calculate significant disproportionality for identification, placement, and discipline. For each category of analysis, this resource provides a description of the data needed to calculate the risk numerator and risk denominator, and notes the relevant EDFacts file specifications, including which subtotals or category sets, as appropriate.

IDEA Part B Data Manager CompetenciesThe IDEA Part B Data Manager Competencies tool outlines foundational knowledge and skills necessary for typical data manager roles and responsibilities. The competencies reflect principles for effective management, support, and use of high-quality IDEA Part B data and fall under one of three overarching categories: content knowledge and skills, technical knowledge and skills, and interpersonal skills.

618 Data Collection CalendarWho doesn't love a good calendar? This tool serves as a reference for states as they plan for the timely and accurate submission of their 618 data collections. Simply select a month to view the data collection and corresponding tasks and activities for that month, or select a report to view a monthly breakdown of activities and related resources.

Graduation Rate (Indicator 1) and Dropout Rate (Indicator 2) CalculatorThis tool from IDC and NTACT calculates graduation and dropout rates using the 618 Exiting data, as OSEP will require in coming years for reporting in states’ SPP/APRs. The tool can accumulate and graph multiple years of data, allowing users to observe trends in the rates over time and share the information easily with stakeholders.
