    Tracking Infrastructure Improvements and Outcomes

    During this interactive workshop, the IDC Evaluation Team helped participants find new ways to measure infrastructure changes and build on what is already being done in the state with data and evaluation. Participants also learned about new resources for evaluating infrastructure changes. For the 2016 Conference on Improving Data, Improving Outcomes held August 15-17, the content of this workshop was updated as Evaluating Infrastructure Changes: Tracking Improvement Strategies and Identifying Outcomes, along with an updated handout and resource guide.

    SSIP Phase III: Operationalizing Your Evaluation Plan

    During this interactive role-alike workshop for SSIP Coordinators, the IDC Evaluation Team helped participants refine SSIP evaluation plans, identify action steps and timelines for implementing evaluation activities, and learn about resources that may be helpful in operationalizing their evaluation plans. For the 2016 Conference on Improving Data, Improving Outcomes held August 15-17, this workshop was conducted with an updated presentation and handout.

    National Evaluation Webinar

    A two-part “National Evaluation Webinar” series conducted by NCSI, ECTA, IDC and OSEP. The webinars focused on evaluation planning in the context of the Phase II of the SSIP, OSEP Phase II requirements, development of a quality evaluation plan, and the process of moving from a theory of action to a logic model. Panelists included Gregg Corr (OSEP), Lou Danielson (NCSI), Tom Fiore (IDC), and Megan Vinh (ECTA).

    It’s All About the Data: Keys to Creating a Robust & Succinct SSIP Report

    This session focused on OSEP’s guidance for the 2018 SSIP Phase III, Year 2 reporting. The presenters addressed the importance of data quality for assessing progress implementing the SSIP and achieving the SiMR. The presenters reviewed the updated measurement language for Indicator B17 in the state’s APR and highlighted resources available to states as they organize the SSIP submission. This presentation emphasized the importance of having, using, and understanding high-quality data to inform decisionmaking at all levels of the education system. Such informed decisionmaking is necessary to support ongoing implementation of the SSIP; justify changes to strategies, timelines, and outcomes; and help communicate the state’s SSIP activities in a robust yet succinct report.
