    Part C Exiting Data Matrix: Categories with Child-Level Examples

    This matrix is both a standalone product and the fourth section of the IDEA Data Center Part C Exiting Data Toolkit. It contains scenarios for each of the 10 exiting categories. The Part C Exiting Data Toolkit is designed to assist states in reporting high-quality Part C exiting data, required under Section 618 of IDEA. The remaining three sections in the Part C Exiting Data Toolkit are: Part C Exiting Reasons and Categories (Section 1); General Challenges and Potential Solutions (Section 2, Part 1); Specific Challenges, Potential Solutions, and Variation (Section 2, Part 2); and Data Check Patterns and Additional Data Check Patterns to Ensure Non-Duplicated Counts of All Eligible Exiting Children (Section 3).

    2019 NCES STATS-DC Data Conference

    Highlights of the conference included

    • Discussions on technical and policy issues related to the collection, maintenance, and use of education data for education researchers, policymakers, and data system managers from all levels of government who want to share innovations in the design and implementation of education data collections and information systems; 
    • Informative sessions on the CCD, data collection, data linking beyond K-12, data management, data privacy, data quality, data standards, data use (analytical), data use (instructional), fiscal data, SLDS, and changes in how the U.S. Department of Education collects and uses data; and 
    • Updates on federal and state activities affecting data collection and reporting, with a focus on information about the best new approaches in collecting, reporting, and using education statistics.

    2020 Part B FFY 2018 SPP/APR Indicator Analysis Booklet

    The 2020 Part B FFY 2018 SPP/APR Indicator Analysis Booklet presents a national quantitative picture of the implementation of Part B of IDEA based on a review of information 60 states and agencies (i.e., the 50 states, commonwealths, territories, and the Bureau of Indian Education), reported in the FFY 2018 APRs and amended SPPs they submitted to OSEP in spring 2020. For the purposes of the report, the term “state” is used for both states and other jurisdictions. The report covers Part B Indicators 1 through 17.
