Unpacking and Understanding Part B SPP/APR Indicator 3D

The purpose of this resource is to unpack Part B SPP/APR Indicator 3D to better understand how to use Indicator 3D results to improve outcomes for all children with IEPs. This resource guides the reader through Indicator 3D, including how to calculate it; information on the setting/resetting of its baselines and targets; and considerations when analyzing, reporting, and using Indicator 3D data. As an aid to deepen learning, this resource includes examples with fictitious data.

618 Data Collection Calendar

The 618 Data Collection Calendar outlines monthly tasks for 618 data collection reports to help states submit timely, accurate, and complete data. Activities for each data collection report are relevant to upcoming data submissions or previous data submissions for individual months, helping states effectively plan for 618 data collection reports.

Preschool Environments Toolkit

The Preschool Environments Toolkit provides materials and resources to help state education agencies (SEAs) and local education agencies (LEAs) collect, report, analyze, and use preschool environments data. State Part B data managers, 619 coordinators, local 619 personnel, technical assistance providers, and other interested parties can use the toolkit to help them report Educational Environments data for children ages 3 through 5 with disabilities enrolled in preschool and receiving services under Part B of IDEA.

SEA Data Processes Toolkit

Using the SEA IDEA Data Processes Toolkit to document data processes for all 616 and 618 data collections will establish a well-managed process for data collection, validation, and submission. In collaboration with IDC State Liaisons, states can use the toolkit to create and maintain a culture of high-quality data and establish and support consistent practices that produce valid and reliable data, while building the capacity of state staff.

This resource can help states develop and report on authentic and broad stakeholder engagement as required in the FFY 2020–2025 SPP/APR. This interactive resource guides states through 10 key questions they should be asking themselves as they build their stakeholder engagement plans. Each question provides detailed options to consider that will assist states in preparing to describe their engagement activities in their SPPs/APRs.

    The 2020 Part B FFY 2018 SPP/APR Indicator Analysis Booklet presents a national quantitative picture of the implementation of Part B of IDEA based on a review of information 60 states and agencies (i.e., the 50 states, commonwealths, territories, and the Bureau of Indian Education), reported in the FFY 2018 APRs and amended SPPs they submitted to OSEP in spring 2020. For the purposes of the report, the term “state” is used for both states and other jurisdictions. The report covers Part B Indicators 1 through 17.

    There is a continuous need for state education agencies (SEAs) and local education agencies (LEAs) to collect and report comprehensive, high-quality data and ensure they report data accurately and in a timely fashion. The customizable IDC LEA Data Processes Toolkit is a new instrument that can improve decisionmaking about children and youth with disabilities by ensuring data are of high quality and processes are clearly defined and documented, while also providing data staff a map for documenting data processes within local districts.
