IDEA Part C Confidentiality Checklist

The IDEA Part C Confidentiality Checklist is designed to help state agencies and early intervention programs and service providers identify what actions, policies, and procedures may be needed to meet confidentiality provisions outlined in Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), at 34 CFR Part 303. This checklist is organized by broad categories, and within those categories, it provides a detailed description of what agencies must do to meet the provision. States can use the evidence column to document how they are implementing confidentiality requirements or to identify the location of source documentation. States can use the action item column to identify actions agencies may need to take to implement, or better implement, the confidentiality provision.
