Communicating Your Data

Being thoughtful about data dissemination and use can be a powerful strategy to help states build stakeholder capacity to understand early intervention and special education data to inform program improvements. In this webinar, IDEA Data Center (IDC) staff discussed the elements and benefits of thoughtful data dissemination and use and the IDC resources available to states to help them display and publicly report their data in meaningful ways.  Staff from two states shared their stories about how they used IDC tools to create visual displays and analysis of their data as a starting point to engage internal and external stakeholders in understanding and using data. State presenters explained how increasing capacity to understand and use data enables their stakeholders to assist state and local leaders in making decisions regarding various early intervention and special education policies, practices, and processes.
