Addressing Significant Disproportionality: How One State and One LEA Are Using IDC Success Gaps Tools to Make Meaningful Change
The IDC Equity, Inclusion, and Opportunity: How to Address Success Gaps white paper & rubric are tools available to states, LEAs, and schools can use to aide in pinpointing the root cause of gaps in outcomes among groups of students. In this webinar, representatives from Arkansas described their state’s decision to use the Success Gaps tools with the LEAs that were identified as having significant disproportionality beginning in 2014. The representatives included an LEA special education director and two assistant principals. They described the root cause analysis work they had performed thus far, while using the Success Gaps tools as the framework. They continued by detailing the impact of their work on their LEAs and their schools.
